Advertising On The Run With Promotional Radios

By: Tina Rinaudo

Promotional items that are portable make great advertising vehicles, and doubly so when they are practical items that your recipients will enjoy using. There’s no better advertisement than an attractive item that gets used often, and there’s no better way to remind your clients and customers about you and your business than by offering company-branded items that they’ll enjoy using. The promotional radio is a good example of both a portable and practical item, and there are several models with extra features that make them ideal “on the run” advertising.

Scan-tuning radios are particularly useful for people on the go—there is no requirement for manual tuning, as these radios scan local stations automatically. They are definitely a much more user-friendly way of tuning. Radios with this function include the Saturn, the Athens, and the Challenger—all priced at less than £1.50 each, these are great-looking and highly affordable portable radios.

The Mini Jogging Radio is a very popular option, available in translucent black or blue, with silver accents. These FM radios are small enough to fit comfortably in a pocket, and each radio includes a clip attachment that can securely attach to a belt for added convenience. Starting at just £1.25 (including a single-color printed design), this is a very affordable option, as well as an attractive one.

Two further portable radio models are ideal for promotions or businesses that involve exercise or physical fitness—the Motion Stopwatch and the Active Radio Pedometer, both stylish options in silver with blue or orange accents. With prices starting at £4.65 and £2.49 respectively, these radios are a step up in terms of price, but the added utility makes them very cost-effective options.

All of these can be easily customized to your specifications, with plenty of room for a company name or logo, and perhaps even a web site address. Each unit price includes the cost of a single-color printed design, and additional print colors are available for many radios, from £0.25-£0.30 depending on the model.

Promotional radios are great value gifts, and are particularly popular with the youth market—not only because of their obvious utility, but also because of the wide variety of funky, eye-catching designs that are available. Don’t forget to lay in a good supply of batteries—some of these models do not include batteries in the price, and your “on the run” advertising will be much more effective if the recipients of your gifts can use them immediately.
