Choosing Paintball Sniper Rifle: Sniper Tips And Tricks

By: Amy Wells

Snipers are the 'one shoot, one kill' merchants in a good paintball team. Snipers don't work on a speed course because they are meant to track their prey and bring them down when they least expect it. That places particular demands upon a paintball sniper rifle.

A paintball game in a wooded area or with plenty of other cover, played over a long period of time, is perfect for snipers. A paintball sniper rifle has to deliver precise hits on selected targets from long range. The idea is to pick off opposing team-mates whilst also confusing the enemy because they don't know where the sniper is. They should be well-camouflaged or hidden.

Firing at a long range is a sniper activity that often requires a pump action gun, because of their accuracy. The paintball sniper rifle should be well maintained, so it fires easily and smoothly. Any delay may decrease your chances of getting a hit off before you are hit.

A Spyder is a good paintball sniper rifle to check out. You should try a few different models to see which fires smoothly and quickly for you, as well as being accurate over quite a long distance. Other models, such as a Tippman, can also be a good choice.

You may go to great lengths to camouflage yourself for paintball play, and you should also think about camouflaging your rifle. You should have a dark color rifle, no stainless steel or colors. For a sniper, surprise is essential.

Snipers don't shoot wildly, they take precise aim, and need to have an excellent sight for their rifle. Usually, you will not have the opportunity for a second shot, so your first shot needs to be accurate. Make sure your sniper gun excels in the sight department.

The smooth trigger is a paintball sniper's best friend. Once you've picked your shot, firing before discovery from your target will help keep you alive during the game. The paintball sniper rifle trigger should release easily during play.

To reduce the risk of your paint capsule exploding in the barrel, you need to have the correct size. A too small paint palette will come out of the barrel ricocheting, and your accuracy will be limited. Check your barrel specifications, and have funny of correct size capsules on hand.

Necessary gear for snipers include paintball goggles that are high-quality. As you will often play low to the ground, you increase your chances of getting hit on the head or face area. Goggles, or even a face mask designed for paintball play, will protect you.

If your paintball sniper rifle fires accurately, and is fast, you're on your way to becoming a serious sniper. Have some good goggles and camouflage gear, and you'll be all set with excellent sniper play. They won't know until they've been hit!
