Helio Ocean 2 Release

The number one question that’s asked among Helio enthusiasts is, “When is the Helio Ocean 2 release date?” Helio Ocean fans have something to be optimistic about. The Helio Ocean 2, Helio OZ2, or whatever Virgin Mobile USA decides to name it…has made some pretty awesome changes to the Ocean. We do know one thing...The wait will definitely be worth it!

The dual slider Helio Ocean 2 was slated to debut in July, ’08 but was temporarily put on the shelf while Virgin Mobile and Helio LLC finalized their acquisition. Upon finalization of the Helio acquisition, Virgin Mobile USA was quick to implement new polices and discount membership plans. Last week Virgin Mobile breathed new life into the Helio Ocean2 and announced the Helio Ocean 2 release date to be early 2009. When exactly in 2009, is still unclear: but we have heard mid March of ‘09.

Like its predecessor, the Helio Ocean 2 definitely is worth waiting for. While only limited information about the Helio Ocean 2 has been released, we do know it has an enhanced memory capacity of 1GB or 1024mb compared to it’s predecessors 200mb of internal memory. This is five times the storage space. The camera was also upgraded from what was already a high quality 2 mega-pixel camera, to an upgraded 3 mega-pixel camera. This is where it gets super exciting. Take those bulky digital cameras and stick them on Ebay because the Helio Ocean is going from again what was already a remarkable little video recording system at 12.5 fps (frames per second) to an impressive 30 frames per second. The standard 29.97 fps video field rate has been used for NTSC television since 1941, whether from a broadcast signal, a rented DVD, or home digital camcorder. Needless to say, 30 fps of video recording quality along with a new touch navigation screen is going to knock your socks off!

Upon release, it may be a little hard to buy a Helio Ocean 2. Many Authorized Helio Retailers have already started their own Helio Ocean 2 waiting list, but no program we’re found compares to www.HelioCellular.com. They will sell you the current Helio Ocean for just $89 and give you a $100 Helio mail in rebate. Then within 60 days of the new Helio Ocean 2 release, HelioCellular.com will let you trade in your used Helio Ocean giving you back every penny you paid as a credit towards a new Helio Ocean 2.
