Include Good Eating Habits In Your Diet

By: Jeff Foster..

There is certainly no shortage of advice these days when it comes to dieting. Generally a large portion of the advice is centered around what you should eat and what you should not eat. Although what you eat certainly plays a large role in the success of any diet, it isn't the only component to a successful diet. Many times is the case the one's eating habits are getting in the way of their diet strategy.

When you should and shouldn't eat. That is as important as what you eat. Why is it important? It is important because you don't want to binge eat. You don't want to eat a whole bunch of food at one time. This isn't good for you.

Let me ask you this... does this ring a bell at all? For breakfast you have very little to eat or perhaps nothing at all. Around lunch time, you are either too busy or you just don't want to consume any unhealthy restaurant or fast foods. So by this point maybe you've had something to drink and a cracker or two. Now, by the time you get back home, your body is screaming for something to eat. In fact, you're so hungry you could eat a proverbial horse. You rationalize eating way more than you should because you essentially have had nothing all day long. You end up closing out your day by watching some television... in fact, you fall asleep while doing so.

So, eating all three of your daily meals in one sitting isn't the same for you as eating three separate meals during the day? Nope... not hardly. Your body isn't prepared to handle that type of all at once digesting and it is not healthy.

You are quite simply overloading your body's capacity and balance. As a result, you will end up eating all kinds of foods that aren't good for you or your diet. And more often than not, if you are away from home, you'll grab some fast food or other type of food that is high in fat.

This is because you are so hungry, you have to eat something now. This tends to be whatever you can get your hands on. Generally, it will be something that isn't good for you. This is why it is important that you eat all three of your meals.

A sling shot type of eating habit will not only not accomplish your weight loss goals (in fact it will probably make your weight even worse) but it is very unhealthy for your body as well. Think consistent nourishment for your body in more frequent measured doses. Healthy snacks between your smaller meals is also a good practice (note the 'healthy' part). Having a healthy snack between the meals is a great way to keep your body's nourishment and energy level at a more consistent operating level and help you stay more consistent with healthy eating habits.

The key thing to remember is to eat healthy snacks. Eat things that make your feel good, not things that are loaded with fat. Things that are loaded with fat will only make you feel drained and make you want to snack more.

Changing your eating habits to having three smaller meals per day is the goal. Even if you seem to struggle to do this, be patient and persistent... do not allow the binge eating cycle to get started.

Remember that if your eatings habits involve starving yourself all day long to the point of getting the shakes then eating whatever you can to make them stop; you need to change your eating habits.
