Safe And Natural Cures For Nausea

By: Richard james

Nausea is not an illness itself; it is rather a possible case of several conditions, many of which are not related to the stomach at all. In fact, more often than not nausea indicates a condition somewhere else in the body rather than in the stomach itself. An example of this is travel sickness, which is due to confusion between perceived movement and actual movement.

Our sense of equilibrium lies in the ear and works together with eyesight. When these two don't "agree" to what extent the body is actually moving the symptom is presented as nausea even though the stomach itself has nothing to do with the situation. Nausea is also an adverse effect of many drugs.

Hydrate your body. A steady intake of fluids is the one of the best remedies for nausea. Drink water, clear-colored sports drinks and the suggested drinks in Step 2, since your body is probably not ready for anything else. Dehydration can lead to conditions worse than simply being nauseous.

Just eating a piece of small piece of ginger (pickled or fresh) will do the trick (it's a bit pungent, but it works instantly). I'm a chef, and my former sous chef gave me a piece to chew on one shift where I was feeling particularly ill (i felt fine immediatley and finished the dinner shift). To make it more palatable, I usually make a ginger tea: Boil about 2 cups of water with a whole knob of ginger (corsely chopped). Add 2 tablespoons of honey, a cinnamon stick, and chopped up fruit (chopped up pears or crushed blueberries work very well). Reduce liquid by half. Strain out fruit, and either drink the liquid straight, or steep a chamomile tea bag in it. You may add more honey to taste.

Smoke marijuana. This is only advisable in countries that have decriminalized marijuana, and is not generally accepted as a responsible decision. However, often times a single inhalation of marijuana smoke will quell nausea and increase appetite.
Acupuncture therapy as an alternative cure is beneficial to treat hyper emesis. It is a severe form of morning sickness. It is beneficial if you take acupuncture sessions twice per week. Acupuncture wrist bands, also known as ‘sea bands’ work by stimulating the pericardium an acupoint.

Ginger is one of the best things to get rid of Nausea. So, get yourself some fresh ginger and put it in tea or you can have some ginger capsules. Stash some crackers on your night table and nibble on them before you get up in the morning. Morning sickness is usually worse in the morning. Eating a few crackers before you get up will give you at least some relief. It is also a good idea to keep a pack of crackers in your purse, your desk and even in the car for those sudden spurs of nausea.

Quickly refrigerate foods that can spoil. Set your refrigerator at 37 degrees and never eat cooked food or dairy foods that have been out of a fridge longer than 2 hours.Using soap and hot water to wash your hands and any utensils, cutting boards that are touched by uncooked meat, fish or poultry.
