The benefits of a natural treatment

By: Clint Jhonson

Heart diseases culminating in heart attacks, cerebrovascular accidents and peripheral vascular disease are the most common outcomes of an unhealthy life style. But the main cause of these events is an increased level of cholesterol. Hypercholesterolemia is not something we should neglect precisely because the perspectives of leaving it untreated are as serious as possible. To lower cholesterol in due time is to prove we are responsible with respect to our health and, more generally, to our lives.

In addition, a natural cholesterol reduction seems to be the more recommendable than treatments based on prescription drugs. However, people tend to be generally more confident in whatever is offered to them under the name of “natural”. And, indeed, they are right to trust more natural food, natural remedies, natural processes and natural life styles than their artificially synthesized or “unnatural” counterparts. With respect to treatments, the thing about prescription drugs is that they work as they are supposed to, but in most cases they endanger our health from a different perspective. In fact, what we do while undergoing a treatment based on prescription drugs is trading our ongoing disease for another possible one. Is this what a genuine remedy should do?

When it comes to choosing a natural cholesterol reduction, we protect ourselves from a series of extremely serious side effects inhered by prescription drugs. Most of the adverse affects reported while or after ingesting such drugs concern headaches and dizziness, digestive disorders – constipation, diarrhea, heartburns, gas – and a very serious complication called rhabdomyolysis (or the failure of skeletal muscles) leading finally to kidney damage. Is there anybody willing to cure cholesterol-related issues on the expense of their kidneys? It’s true that side effects do not always occur, in other words, they are not necessary, but the simple fact that they are possible haunts our concerns and may push us to choose a natural treatment.

On the other hand, a natural cholesterol reduction is a much more difficult task with respect to certain aspects. To lower cholesterol naturally implies to radically change our life style. This is something many people are not willing to do, or think it is beyond their power. Changes begin with diet, the main factor deciding directly the level of cholesterol.

We have to eliminate or to reduce the intake of damaging foods. The difficulty is that it so happens that we have to cut out precisely some of the most delicious and tasty foods we are crazy about. Fatty meat, mayonnaise and yolk in general, pastry and regular dairy, butter and so many others will be banished from out daily dishes.

The good side is that natural cholesterol reduction comes with its own offer of dishes. We may even start to enjoy oat-based products or rediscover how delicious properly cooked fish is. Almonds and so many other types of nuts participate to that offer, and fruits and vegetable as well. Anyway, supplements based on natural compounds are also reliable if we decide to lower cholesterol this way.

If it is necessary for us to lower cholesterol, than we would better make sure that the treatment does not damage our health from a different direction. And a natural treatment can guarantee precisely that.
