What should you wear at work? This is a big question that is not always easy to answer. Many offices to not have a dress code or they implement a dress code known as business casual. What does this actually mean?

We if you are a guy then this is easy, smart trousers with shirt and no tie. There are no real problems and it means you can get dressed without even thinking. If you are a women it is a bit harder than that, how do you know what you can and cannot get away with?

There are a lot of things that need to be considered when deciding what to wear. The first thing to think about is the type of company you work for. If the work you do is serious then this needs to be reflected in what you wear. However other things that comes to mind is how to express your feminine side. How sexy can you go before you have crossed the line and gone that little bit too far?

It is important to remember that sexy clothes will attract attention, after all this is what they are designed to do. If you work in a male dominated environment then you need to decide how much attention you actually want. However you need to be clear that however you dress it does not give your colleagues the right to harass or abuse you. Think about your company though before you go for that sexy look, is that an image that they want to portray to their clients. Will you be doing your company damage by wearing a skirt that is very short of that low cut top you love. While at work you should reflect your company and not just yourself.

Although you want to reflect your company it is important to remember that you are not a robot and that you are an individual. Reflecting your own personality in the way you dress is important to you as a person. There are no rules about wearing sexy clothes as long as it does not disturb fellow workers. However think about it carefully, you can achieve a feminine, sexy look without putting everything on show. Wearing figure hugging clothes that show off your figure with high heels and great accessories can sometime be more sexy than being too obvious about it. Remember to keep a balance in your clothing, somewhere between completely over the top and totally boring. This should keep both you and your company happy.

We all know that is ridiculous to be judged on what you wear however it is widely known that if you do not dress appropriately for your job people will think that you do not take your job seriously. Do you really want to be the person that gets overlooked because others can’t see past your clothes. Think about it, if you dress in a sexy way in an office full of men, you will get seen as someone who is looking to pick up a guy, even if that is not your intention. If you don’t dress professionally that it is unlikely you will be taken professionally and this may keep you back when you deserve to go forward.

Think about what you wear, find ways to express yourself that still keep you looking like a professional, it is quite easy to do if you try. This will enable you to remain an individual but still get on in that tough office environment.
